The Merrick Public Library is a department in the Town of Brookfield, governed by a six-member Board of Library Trustees, who are elected for staggered three-year terms of office. The Trustees govern under Chapter 78, Sections 10 and 11 of the Massachusetts General Laws, having legal responsibility for the provision of library services, custody of library property, appointment of the library director, expenditure of funds, and determination of library policy. A primary function of this board is to ensure library services effectively meet community needs. 

 

Meetings of the Merrick Public Library Board of Trustees are held at the Library on the first Wednesday of every month, at 6:30PM.

 

The public is welcome to attend Trustee meetings, however, please be aware that the Library will not be staffed for any normal services or circulation functions during this time.
